On the left, Lauren Holzberg was playing Monika Mical and, to the right, Lauren McCarthy was playing Maria Prishlyak. Two of Prevette's seniors were facing her two top recruits, with Prevette watching over both matches.

Adjusting to the extended workout routines and preparing to face tough collegiate competition would be intimidating enough for Penn State women's tennis team freshmen Monika Mical and Maria Prishlyak.
As the rest of the team huddled around women's head tennis coach Dawna Prevette at the end of last Thursday's practice, the coach turned to freshman Monika Mical and gave one last order.
