While Penn State is guaranteed to have its first winning season during Coquese Washington's tenure, the Lady Lions want to make a statement.
Dancing into the media room with a smile stretching from ear to ear, Tyra Grant reached into her bag of jokes.

Up by three with less than a minute to play against Michigan Thursday, it looked as if Penn State was going to seal the victory after the Wolverines' Car-men Reynolds' shot bounced off the front of the rim.
Phase one is complete. The Lady Lions beat Michigan. The next phase comes Thursday when the Lions will host Wisconsin. Phase three will come Sunday when Penn State travels to Indiana for its final regular season game.

Senior Tyra Grant sat down in front of the microphone, took a look at the box score and threw her arms up in frustration after seeing she shot only 2-for-8 from 3-point range.
